Cross-Registration for Non-MBA Students

Full-time students enrolled in graduate-level degree programs at Columbia University are eligible to cross-register into some Business School courses. Seniors in Columbia’s full-time undergraduate programs are also eligible. Business School core courses are NOT available for cross-registration. These include B5101, B5102, B5103, B5201, B5202, B5301, B5302, B5303, B6005, B6006, B6013, B6014, B6015, B6016, B6301, B6602, B6702, B6703 and B6801.

Non-Business School students may take no more than one Business School course per term and no more than six during their entire Columbia enrollment. All prerequisites will be enforced. Note: B6302 - Capital Markets & Investments or an equivalent is a prerequisite for most finance courses. Students and advisors are responsible for verifying satisfaction of the prerequisite.

Students should review the Business School academic calendar (linked below), which is different from that of other schools at the University.

To apply for a Business School course, please refer to the list of available courses (pdf) and follow the directions found on our web-based cross-registration application system. Be aware that only students from Columbia schools that have an established cross-registration arrangement with the Business School will be able to submit requests. If you do not see your program listed on the application website, ask your academic administrator to contact the MBA Student Affairs Office (212-854-5563).

Note that non-Business School students will receive traditional letter grades (A, B, C, D, F) for courses taken at the Business School.
