Conferences

Planning a large scale event like a full day conference is an enormous undertaking. At least one Conference Chair will need to take the lead on the project and work closely with the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of External Relations. But in order to create a really successful event your club will need full participation from the entire executive board. If you are a conference chair start enlisting the help of AVPs and other club members as early as possible and be prepared to dedicate many hours of your time to the project. There are many tasks involved in planning a conference from developing interesting themes and panel topics, all the way down to making sure you have a bottle of water on the podium when your keynote speaker addresses your guests. Advanced planning, good leadership, and good communication with your team and the administration are absolute necessities. For more help with the nuts and bolts see the topics below.
