Beyond the Classroom

The Office of MBA Student Life knows that your Columbia Business School experience extends beyond the classroom and the library. Being a student encompasses a range of experiences and one essential part of that is the personal connection you make with your classmates during your time here. Our office works to foster a spirit of community that you can take with you after your time here.

The Office of MBA Student Life supports every aspect of students’ co-curricular life and does whatever it takes to make student life fulfilling, enjoyable and hassle-free. In addition to running orientation, graduation, community service and other programs, our office is home to more than 90 active student organizations, including the GBA (student government), networking and social groups and career-related clubs and sports teams. We’re actively working to improve quality of life for students through open feedback sessions, programming and one-on-one or group counseling.

Another resource we provide to you is the MBA Student Guide, a central place for you to go for information about joining or starting a club, planning an event, taking advantage of New York City and more. For general questions, the guide is a great resource.

Please always keep us in mind as a useful resource in helping you manage the range of day-to-day obligations that help keep you on your academic path. When things feel overwhelming, we are here for your questions and concerns. More often than not, we’ll have an answer for you and can point you in the right direction. Stop by Uris Room 111 and get to know us – we’re here to listen to your ideas and help make your two years here unforgettable.
