The Hermes Society

Be a part of an organization that makes a significant impact on the student community.

The EMBA Admissions Office is seeking your help in building awareness of the Columbia EMBA by being a part of The Hermes Society, the student arm of the EMBA Admissions Office. Established in 2003, this volunteer leadership program offers EMBA students an opportunity to assist Admissions through convenient and flexible activities.

Some of the ways to get involved include:

  • Hosting class visitations.

Prospective applicants/students have the opportunity to sit in an EMBA class and speak with current students. Volunteers will greet the visitors on class visit days prior to the class starting.

  • Presenting at EMBA Information Sessions on and off campus.

Volunteers participate in information sessions through attendance at the pre and post receptions and/or participate as student speakers as needed.

  • Participating in email chats with prospective students.

A prospective applicant/student who wishes to speak with a current EMBA student about their experiences at Columbia will contact a Hermes Society volunteer. Most prospective applicants are interested in getting an EMBA student’s perspective and advice.

  • Assisting with special admissions events.

Volunteers will assist in yield activities such as making congratulatory calls to admitted students. They will also participate in Admitted Student Receptions.

We have always appreciated the support of students with our recruiting efforts because they attract the highest caliber of candidates to the program.

If you are interested in becoming a Hermes Society member, please complete the registration form.

Thank you in advance for all of your help.
