How do I recruit Columbia Business School students?

The Career Mangement Center looks forward to working with you to develop a recruiting approach that meets your needs. Whether you are seeking to hire one MBA or 40, our goal is help you efficiently identify and evaluate candidates who will be a good fit for your organization. We want your recruiting process to be as efficient as possible, with satisfying results for both recruiters and candidates.

Recruiting Strategies
The optimal recruiting strategy for your organization depends upon the number of MBAs you are trying to recruit, the type of position(s) you are seeking to fill and the timing of your hiring needs.

On-Campus Recruiting

This approach is geared toward companies that are prepared to make offers several months in advance of the new hire's start date. Interviewing second-year students for full-time opportunities typically begins in October or November and offers are extended by December. Organizations with later recruiting needs can also come onto campus to interview second-year students during the spring semester.

Interviews for first-year students for internship opportunities begin in January.

Job Postings

Companies hiring a small number of MBAs are typically better served by an approach that is less structured than the formal on-campus recruiting program.

Full-time and Internship Positions

Companies can advertise opportunities using the job posting form found on our new recruiters site, COIN. Interested candidates and recruiters correspond directly to schedule their off-campus interviews. Please contact us if you are interested in meeting your candidates on campus.

If you have a position that is particularly appropriate for Executive MBA students, please contact Mark Horney, Director at mah66@columbia.edu.

Part-time Positions
Many full-time MBA students are interested in working part-time during the school year. Part-time jobs should be submitted through our online job posting form which is found in COIN. Please be sure to indicate whether the posting is intended for current students or alumni. Including salary information is strongly encouraged for part-time positions.

Résumé Collection
At your request, the Office of MBA Career Services will collect the résumés of students interested in applying for a specific position.

Résumé Book
Purchasing a Résumé Book is an excellent way for companies to proactively identify students whom they are interested in meeting.
