Columbia’s Real Estate Forum is an invitation-only group of leading real estate executives who meet several times each year to discuss issues of interest to the industry. The 14^th Annual Columbia Real Estate Forum took place on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Martin Cohen, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, Cohen & Steers, Inc., led a thought-provoking discussion regarding the Changing Financial Landscape. Then, Daniele D. Bodini ’72, Chairman, American Continental Properties Group, and Steven Roth, Chairman and CEO, Vornado Realty Trust, opened a lively dialogue about Uncertainty, Liquidity Premiums and Other Macro-level Forces on Credit Markets. Thomas M. Flexner, Global Head of Real Estate, Citigroup, moderated this discussion. Finally, the event concluded with an in-depth debate on Capital, Cap Rates and Micro-level Impacts on Real Estate, led by Barry S. Sternlicht, Chairman and CEO, Starwood Capital Group, and David E. Simon ’85, Chairman and CEO, Simon Property Group, and moderated by Richard B. Saltzman, President, Colony Capital, LLC.
