Professor Gerald Curtis Weighs in on Fukushima Disaster in the Financial Times
Gerald Curtis, Burgess Professor of Political Science and CJEB core faculty member, was featured in a Financial Times opinion piece. He argues that blaming culture as the cause of the Fukushima disaster belies the actual human autonomy involved in creating the disaster and the fact that people putting the interests of their organization ahead of the interests of the public is not unique to any one culture, let alone Japan's. “If that is Japanese culture,” Professor Curtis notes, “then we are all Japanese.”
