MBA Curriculum

Today’s economic environment demands versatility. Columbia Business School’s revised core curriculum, unveiled in fall 2008, provides students with essential tools for success applicable across industries and functions, giving them the tools they need to ask — and answer — the biggest questions facing business leaders today.

The redesigned core curriculum combines the rigor and content necessary for solid business management with a flexibility that allows students to choose core classes that best enhance their skills and experience. It also fosters an awareness of ethical issues and an understanding of the impact that business decisions can have on society at large.

Columbia Business School’s ongoing curricular innovation is reflective of its commitment to prepare students to lead, build and manage enterprises that create value for stakeholders and constituencies in a dynamic, global economy. Dean Hubbard discusses the redesigned core’s inspiration, development and structure in the Fall 2008 issue of The Exchange, a series of papers covering innovation in MBA curriculums.
