This year’s conference will focus on consumers as collaborators, influencers, and brand builders. As consumers become ever more inundated with marketing messages, companies are seeking ways to more actively engage them, involve them in the marketing process, and individualize the customer brand experience. The 2009 MAC Conference “You Marketing” seeks to bring together influential marketers from a variety of industries who have successfully utilized consumers as a tool to build their brands. This year’s conference is sponsored by American Express, Unilever, IBM, The Luxury Education Foundation, Kraft, and Schering-Plough. This will be an excellent networking opportunity for recent CBS alumni, and a great forum for reconnecting with CBS alumni past and present.

Duncan Watts, principal research scientist at Yahoo! Research (Human Social Dynamics group)
