Global Thought Leaders

Columbia Business School’s leadership role in global business education is due in large part to our 150 member full-time faculty. Their ideas, honed through interaction with students, colleagues, and practitioners, are put into action around the world, changing management, organizational, and financial practices.

Our faculty members routinely partner with businesses both locally and abroad in their research. By capitalizing on their extensive experience in the corporate world, faculty members develop course content that addresses the conditions and challenges of today’s business environment and anticipates tomorrow’s business needs.

Practitioners

Columbia’s location in New York, a short subway ride from the headquarters of many of the world’s major firms, allows the EMBA Program to attract an unrivaled community of adjunct professors who complement our full–time faculty and bring unique, real-world insights from their industries.

The Executives in Residence program brings senior executives to the School for regular one-on-one advising sessions with students. These executives also teach classes, participate in student-run conferences, or organize informal lunches for groups of students with common interests.

Dedication to Teaching

At Columbia Business School, we recognize that a course is only as effective as its professor. We ensure that all students receive the best instruction. Many of the School’s most distinguished faculty members teach in the core curriculum, and nearly all teach electives in their specialty area. The Samberg Institute for Teaching Excellence develops innovative ways to vary and strengthen teaching at the School, and the administration always integrates student feedback into curricular decisions.
