Admissions Process

The Columbia Executive MBA (EMBA) Program is designed for people with significant professional achievements and substantial organizational responsibilities. On average, Columbia EMBA students have nine years of professional experience.

Admissions Process

The EMBA Program uses a rolling admissions process, which means applications are reviewed as they are received. It is therefore advantageous for you to submit your application as early in the process as possible. Please note that you do not need to schedule an interview in order to submit an application.

Online Application

Your first step in the online application process is to register for a username and password. The online application asks for work, educational and personal details, has a required essay section and also allows you to e-mail requests to your recommenders for letters of reference. You may save and return to the online application as many times as you wish until you decide to click the submit button.

Supporting Documents

In conjunction with your online application, you will need to send us a number of supporting documents. Supporting documents do not need to be submitted together with the online application. Feel free to send us your transcripts, GMAT scores, sponsor letter and other materials before or after you have submitted your online application. In order to allow the Admissions Committee to begin the application evaluation as early as possible, applicants may submit copies of unofficial GMAT scores or personal copies of university transcripts in advance of the certified original copies.

The Interview

The interview is a chance for us to get to know you beyond your written application and for you to ask questions. You do not need to submit an application in order to schedule an interview. To request an interview, please send your resume to the Admissions Office at embainfo@columbia.edu and an admissions representative will contact you.
