Military Experience and the Columbia MBA
Students with a military background bring a level of leadership experience to an MBA program rarely matched by their civilian peers. In turn, an MBA degree provides these students with vital business skills, essential knowledge and a powerful network that helps them further themselves in their current positions or transition their careers to the private sector.
The Columbia Executive MBA offers veterans and active duty personnel the opportunity to build on their knowledge while gaining the competitive edge in the business world.
The Executive MBA program provides:
- A curriculum that features leading-edge theory brought alive through case studies and interactions with classmates — taught by world-renowned academics and practitioners in their respective fields.
- Classes held every other Friday and Saturday that enable you to earn your MBA while continuing to fulfill the responsibilities of your current role.
- The New York location that provides you a living laboratory for your studies and the opportunity to interact with the best and brightest in business today.
- Access to an unparalleled network of over 38,000 alumni world-wide, a majority of whom are in the New York area.
- The opportunity to earn your degree from a top-ranked, Ivy League school that will brand you and your career for life.
- Career management services designed specifically for those in mid-career.
- A flexible program that will support and accommodate you should you be called to serve while in the program.
The Military in Business Association: A student-run organization comprised of veterans of the armed forces, the MIBA fosters awareness within the CBS community of the military through the sharing of leadership and teamwork experiences. The group supports veterans in all academic, social, and professional aspects of the Columbia Business School experience. MIBA can also assist you in navigating the CBS application process.
