Senior Lecturer Lucius Riccio wins inaugural ShotLink Intelligence Prize
DRO Senior Lecturer in Discipline Lucius Riccio has won the inaugural ShotLink Intelligence Prize for his paper The Best Fairway Ball Striker on Tour! describing his method of ranking PGA TOUR golfers. The prize is awarded by the PGA TOUR and by Official Technology Partner CDW, which also awarded Columbia a $25,000 technology gift to mark the occasion.
Riccio's paper was judged against other submissions that also used data from ShotLink, the PGA TOUR's proprietary scoring system that has generated a wealth of statistics about player performance.
