Aryeh Sand
University of Toronto, Class of 2010Faculty of Commerce, Major in Finance and Economics
Aryeh Sand rejoined CITI in May 2008 as the summer intern research coordinator as part of the JP Morgan Non-profit Opportunity program. Aryeh oversees the day to day research of the summer interns, and ensures that the program runs smoothly. His research interests include telecommunications, media, and technology valuation and financing.
Flavio F. Barouchel

Flavio was born in Rio de Janeiro and studies Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering at PontifÃcia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He came to the United States in an interchange program and took advantage of his geographical situation to apply for an intern position at CITI.
Besides travelling and knowing new sites and people, in his professional life Flavio really likes Business. Back to Brazil, he would like to get a job in a big company and start a successful international career.
Pilar Bruce
Before joining CITI, Pilar worked in the Rockwell Financial Group where she first began her experience in Wall Street. Now, in CITI she is learning valuable skills to use once she works in investment banking at one of the top banks. Her future plans are to open and manage her own hedge fund (depends on the market) exclusively for Latin American investors.Her hobbies include finance literature, bull fights, Real Madrid and investing.
Yesmin Cure
Boston University, Class of 2009Yesmin graduated from North Bergen High School in 2005. She was in the top 1% of her graduating class and a member of the National Honor Society and French Honor Society. She was also an assistant coach for a girl's softball team.
Yesmin is studying International Relations at Boston University, where she is a recipient of the Dean's Scholarship. She has demonstrated leadership as the president of First Book, an organization dedicated to providing low-income children with free books. She is very interested in politics and spent a semester in Washington D.C. interning at the U.S. House of Representatives. She enjoys traveling and doing volunteer work.
Yi (David) Du
Columbia University, Class of 2007 Electrical Engineering
Yi Du is a Master's student in Electrical Engineering, with concentration in Neuron Computation in Bionet Group. Before attending to Columbia University, he spent four years in Fudan University, one of the best the universities in China, for a B.S degree. He served as President of the Student Council at the School of Information Science and Techology in Fudan.
He worked in Deloitte & Touche, a financial service firm, as an auditing intern, as well as Bain & Co., a consultancy, as Associate Consultant Intern. His major interest is in the emerging telecom and media market.
In the spare time, he likes studying soccer tactics, playing basketball, and swimming. His mid-term-objective is to become President of a major European Football Club, in approximately 20 years.
Siyun Fan
Michigan State University, Class of 2008M.A. Advertising
Siyun just received her Master's Degree of Advertising from Michigan State University in Spring 2008. She has a keen interest in media research and strategic planning, especially the internet and its impacts on customers, market and the society as a whole. Previous researches topics include the motivations of online participation, user generated content and building peer trust in online community. Siyun also has intern and freelance experiences in social networking, search engine analysis and marketing strategy. After the internship in CITI, Siyun is looking forward to a career in media industry. Outside of the classroom, Siyun is a fan of digital photography, graphic design and a travel lover. As a member of GreenPeace Student Network, she is also interested in non-profit organization and environmental issue.
Soumya Kalra
Rutgers University, Class of 2008 Economics
Soumya has completed a bachelor's degree in economics from Rutgers University and is pursuing further graduate study in mathematical finance at Rutgers University as well.
Kiril Kirilov
Baruch College, Class of 2008 History major and law & policy minor
Kiril spent two years at management consulting firm Katzenbach Partners, working in the Visual Center on workflow management and as a junior researcher for a fortune 500 company. After Katzenbach Partners, Kiril was part of the college marketing team at Time Out New York magazine developing marketing schemes using social networking sites as well using more traditionally based advertising methods targeting the college reader. Kiril went on to join Siblings Music as a new media consultant helping the company market their artists. Kiril's interests lay in how telecommunications will affect future media business models.
Sang Yup Lee

2nd year for Masters Degree
Sang Yup Lee has a BS degree in Computer Science from Yonsei University in Korea and has worked at Overseas Sales and Marketing Department of Samsung Electronics. He also interned at Daimler Chrysler Service Korea and Veyond Partners Consulting Firm. His research interests are the business and economic aspects of the mobile broadband industry.
George Lin
Fordham University, Class of 2009 George is currently a senior enrolled at Fordham University and is majoring in Communications & Media, with a minor in Psychology. He maintains great enthusiasm and passion in the realm of film-making and has aspirations of becoming a feature film director and writer. George cites director Christopher Nolan as a major source of inspiration.
Aisling O'Connor
Aisling O'Connor is a senior at Manhattan College studying History with a pre-law concentration. At Manhattan College she is an active member of NYWEA, JustPeace, and the Thomas Moore Law Society. After college, Aisling plans to either pursue her interests in law or post-WWII America. When she is not at work or studying, she enjoys writing, yoga, and keeping in touch with friends.Michael Overmyer
Columbia University, Class of 2011 Michael Overmyer is a student at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and School of Law. He will graduate in 2011 with a Master of International Affairs and a JD. Before coming to Columbia, he worked in Washington, DC as an analyst of US-China economic relations. He originally hails from Summit, NJ and lived for ten years in Singapore.
Shikha Sharma
Boston College, Class of 2011Economics, International Studies
Shikha is a rising sophomore at Boston College, where her academic interests focus on economics and international studies. She volunteers through various community service organizations in Boston such as Appalachia and 4Boston. Dancing for 14 years now, Shikha is also talented member of Boston College's South Asian Dance Team and local dance academy choreographer.
Before entering Boston College, Shikha attended West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South in New Jersey, where she was actively involved as the secretary of the Student Council, goalie of the Varsity Soccer Team, and editor of the school newspaper. She has served as an active community member as a youth volunteer with the American Red Cross and as an Emergency Medical Technician at the local first aid squad.
In her free time, Shikha enjoys traveling and watching her favorite television show, Grey's Anatomy. In the future, Shikha hopes to pursue a career in either business or law and eventually attend graduate school.
Xinyi Tao

Xinyi just finished her sophomore year at Cornell University. As an Operation Research major, Xinyi is most likely to pursue a career in financing, however, she still unsure what she wants to do in the future.

Meleleng Tchalim is entering his Junior year at Seton Hall University, where he is pursuing a B.S. in International Relations. He is still unsure about his career path but is considering options in various fields.
Menelik Tefera
Duke UniversityMenelik Tefera is a junior at Duke University and is a double major in Public Policy Studies and Economics. Menelik is involved in multiple facets of campus life at Duke, including the Center for Race Relations, West Campus Council, Black Male Outreach and Education (BMORE) and America Reads. In addition, he has had experience interning at the Duke University Center for Health Policy Research and DE Shaw & Co.
Currently, Menelik is intent upon applying to law school after completing his undergraduate education and pursuing a career in either corporate law or financial regulation. In his spare time, Menelik enjoys reading, playing tennis, jogging, hiking, and weightlifting.
Nirmal Thapa
Western Illinois University, Class of 2009M.B.A with a concentration in Marketing
Nirmal Thapa is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing at Western Illinois University. He received his Bachelors Degree from the State University of New York at Potsdam. He graduated in 2006 with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Information Technology.
Originally from Nepal, he has previously lived in Cairo, Egypt for three years and New York, USA for the last ten years. He loves traveling and had a chance to travel around Europe during his study-abroad program at the HES Amsterdam School of Business in The Netherlands.
Maria Castaneda
Saint Michael Academy, Class of 2009Maria Castañeda currently attends Saint Michael Academy and will become a senior this fall. With hard work and persistence, she was able to learn English as a new language when she came to this country eight years ago. Now because of it, she ranks first in her high school class. She is considering having a career in business and would like to attend a college / university in New York.
Emma Katz
Bronx High School of Science, Class of 2008Emma is a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science. While at Bronx Science Emma was an editor on her school newspaper The Science Survey, captain of the Girl's Cross Country Team, President of the Social Action Knitting Club, and a member of the National Honors Society. Emma also was a participant in the Intel Social Science Research Competition for her project on teenagers' money management skills titled "Boys are from Best Buy, Girls are from Bloomingdales: The Different Money Management Worlds of Adolescent Males and Females". Emma will be attending the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College/CUNY in the fall where she plans to major in Anthropology and Applied Economics.
Diana Lu
Bronx High School of Science, Class of 2009Diana is currently a student at the Bronx High School of Science and will graduate in 2009. She is a member of the school's national honor society, ARISTA, as well as the American Cancer Society. She is working on her mathematics Intel project on Benford's Law, a mathematical theorem that has been used to detect tax fraud.
Diana enjoys photography, biking, web design and playing the piano in her spare time. She would like to attend Columbia University and also go into business for her future career.
Paul Shao
Bronx High School of Science, Class of 2009Paul is a student in the graduating class of 2009 of the Bronx High School of Science. He is interested in pursuing a major in engineering in college. He currently is a member of his school's track team and chess club. He firmly opposes the practice procrastination and believes in the virtue of hard work. His hobbies include taking long walks, taking electronic objects apart and cooking.
