Few people have had a better view of Hong Kong's steady emergence as a global financial capital than Lawrence Fok. As executive vice president and head of Issuer Marketing Division of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, it's Fok's job to promote the exchange's role to issuers in the region and abroad. During a recent visit back to New York, Fok--a Columbia MBA grad, Class of '76--sat down with the Chazen Web Journal for a video chat. In the wide-ranging interview, Fok discussed the emergence of sophisticated financial markets in Asia, how the credit crisis impacted the greater China region, and why he values his MBA education.
