About Narayana Murthy
Narayana
Murthy is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Mentor of Infosys Technologies Limited, a global Information
Technology (IT) consulting and software services provider, headquartered at Bangalore, India. He
founded Infosys in 1981 along with six other software professionals and served
as the CEO of Infosys for twenty one
years before handing over the reins
of the company to co-founder, Mr. Nandan M. Nilekani,
in March 2002. Under his leadership, Infosys was listed on NASDAQ in
1999. He served as the Executive Chairman of the Board and Chief Mentor from 2002 to 2006.
He obtained a B. E. (Electrical) from the University of Mysore in 1967 and a M. Tech. (Electrical) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1969. He has been conferred honorary degree by several well-known universities in India and abroad.

The Nand and Jeet Khemka Distinguished Speaker Forum, established in May 2008 by Board of Overseers member Nand L. Khemka '56 and his wife, Jeet, will bring leaders in industry, commerce, finance, and government from India and around the globe to New York to share their perspective on India's growing economy and business policies. These visits will create powerful opportunities for the School to engage alumni, faculty, students, and representatives of the business community in an active dialogue on this evolving region.
