Professor Ellman is a Founder and General Partner of RRE Ventures, a venture capital firm with $600MM under management and offices in New York City and Silicon Valley. Since co-founding RRE Ventures in late 1994, Ellman has been responsible for more than 20 information technology investments and currently serves as a Director of Ember Corporation, MessageOne, Odyssey Logistics and ProofPoint. Ellman also serves as a Director of Makor, and the 92nd Street Y.
From 1992-1994, he was a co-founder and Vice President at Advisory Capital Partners, a principal investment and advisory firm. In 1991, Ellman was an Associate at Morgan Stanley & Co., specializing in fixed income capital markets. From 1988-1990, he served as a Financial Analyst at Dillon, Read & Co., focused on leveraged buyouts and restructurings. In 1987, he worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Co. in Sydney, Australia.
Ellman holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard University and a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University, where he was a Gilbert Clee Scholar and a Horace White Fellow.
Ellman has lectured on venture capital at Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, NYU and University of Chicago.
