Teaching and research interest

Professor Simon also holds an appointment as Clinical Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management. Professor Simon teaches core courses on international business and marketing, as well as electives on e-commerce and health care management, in the MBA and Executive MBA Programs. Her research focuses on global strategies in the consumer, health and high-technology sectors and on management in emerging markets. She is the coauthor of Building Global Biobrands: Taking Biotechnology to Market (with Philip Kotler, 2003), Winning Strategies for the New Latin Markets (with F. Robles and J. Haar, 2002) and Europe and Latin America in the World Economy and Growing Your Business Globally (2000). She currently researches innovation and global strategy in the high-tech/biotech sectors. Simon has held senior positions with two leading consulting firms, where she led practices in global strategy and marketing. She works extensively with the Executive Education program and has designed and led senior management seminars for such firms as Avon, Deloitte & Touche and Merck. Simon received the 1997 Margaret Chandler Award for Commitment to Excellence in teaching in the Executive MBA Programs.
