Teaching and research interest

Omar Besbes is an Assistant Professor in the Decision, Risk and Operations division at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. He teaches the core MBA class on Operations Management. His primary research interests are in the area of decision-making under model uncertainty with a focus on applications in dynamic pricing & revenue management and service operations. His recent work develops effective data-driven pricing algorithms to operate in uncertain and changing environments.

Before joining Columbia in July 2009, he was on the faculty at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
