Hitendra Wadhwa's research and teaching on Personal Leadership focuses on how to maximize one’s outer impact through inner mastery. It draws upon universal laws of human nature that are validated by the latest scientific research and exemplified by the lives of great leaders. Prof. Wadhwa’s work has been widely acclaimed by leading media outlets including Psychology Today, Fortune, and BBC World Service.
Prof. Wadhwa teaches MBA and Executive Education courses on Personal Leadership & Success, Driving Strategic Impact and Leading Others from the Inside Out. Prof. Wadhwa is the recipient of the 2012 Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence, the 2007 Lear Award for Distinguished Service to Students and the 2007 Most Engaging and Dynamic Professor Award.
He is the Founder of the Institute for Personal Leadership (IPL), which provides training, coaching and consulting on Inner Mastery + Outer Impact to executives and corporations. His clients include S&P, Pfizer, American Express, SAP, Best Buy, Estee Lauder, Godrej Group and JP Morgan Chase. At IPL, he has pioneered the launch of a number of online Executive Education programs offered in collaboration with Columbia Business School Executive Education and taken by 1,000+ executives from 40+ countries around the globe.
Prior to Columbia, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he counseled senior executives on a range of strategy issues. He was also the Co-Founder and CEO of Paramark, a technology company backed by $10 million in venture capital that developed the first real-time optimization platform for online marketing and was selected as a Top 100 Internet Technology company by Technologic Partners/Venture Wire in 2000 and 2001.
Prof. Wadhwa received his MBA and Ph.D. from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, and his B.A. (Honors in Mathematics) from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, where he was awarded the Gold Medal as the top-ranked mathematics student in the university.
