Professor Karaoglu's research primarily relates to accounting issues in securities and banking regulation and corporate governance. His current research focuses on the consequences of Sarbanes-Oxley, accounting fraud, SEC enforcement actions, and accounting for securitization and special purpose entities. Karaoglu teaches the core course on financial accounting. Prior to joining Columbia, Karaoglu has taught MBA courses on financial statement analysis, financial accounting, and corporate finance at the University of Southern California, University of Toronto, and Kellogg (Northwestern).
