Recent graduates of the doctoral program include Moshe Bareket (Duke University), Feng Chen (University of Toronto), Mingcherng Deng (University of Minnesota), Thomas Issaevitch (University of Minnesota), Sharon Katz (Harvard), Jing Liu (UCLA), Ron Shalev (Washington University in St. Louis), Nir Yehuda (Cornell) and Xiao-Jun Zhang (University of California-Berkeley).
The PhD program, which requires four to five years of full-time study, prepares students for posts at leading academic and research institutions. The division currently has a diverse group of doctoral students from China, India, Israel, Korea, Turkey and the United States.
2008 was a very successful year in the division’s aim to recruit top-notch PhD candidates for faculty positions. We are pleased to announce that Jon Kerr and Nan Qiao will be joining our ranks in August 2008.
